Going to recap while I get my rear end moving on project “Aurora”
08 was a blast! Continued customizing and driving! Big project was a custom front grill setup similar to the grill craft stuff! And paint and fit a Greddy front lip. Wanted to protect the FMIC and DIY projects are my OCD meds! Sourced some mesh from www.customgrills.com and got to work.
3M Plastic paint adhesion primer
3 coats of NAPA color matched spray bomb and 3 coats of 3M clear coat spray can!
Bravely cutting apart the grill
Paper template
Back of the bumper area that was cut out to fit the FMIC core and epoxy mounts to secure the grill material
Test fit the lower grill area
Grills installed and bumper on the car. SS hardware to securely hold the grill material in front of the FMIC core to avoid any rubbing.
Finished product with Greddy lip and plate installed with custom SS hardware. Looking mean and clean!
It was 2 days worth of work in total. I would do it again in a heartbeat as the results are very clean.
On the next car ill be painting the Perrin FMIC Core black to help it hide!
P.S. One of my shots of Polaren’s bugeye. Something about the tanks in the background that set it off.. Car is long since sold..
Lets not talk about those wild lights he DIY painted! eek. Glad they came off and were sold days later! he had a ricer moment!
